Namaskaram!
Here are the fundamental foundations that are used in Claire Missingham’s original Namaskar Variations, in order to fulfill your potential within these sequences correctly, please ensure you have knowledge of the principles of alignment for the following:
- TADASANA (SEE ALIGNMENT FROM IYENGAR)
- EXCELLENT ALIGNMENT IN CHATURANGA, URDHVA MUKHA SVANASANA, ADHO MUKHA SVANASANA
- DIAGONAL PLANK POSE UTILIZING CORE CORRECTLY AND EFFECTIVELY (INC. BANDHAS)
- KNEE TO CHEST POSE IN DIAGONAL PLANK WITH CORE ACTIVATION FOR STEPPING LEG BETWEEN HANDS (i.e. don’t swing the leg from one leg dog, or bang the foot to the floor!)
- PRINCIPLES OF HIGH LUNGE WITH PARALLEL BACK FOOT HEEL RAISED (4 points of energetic alignment, shoulders open, back heel raised straight knee, front knee over front heel)
- PRINCIPLES OF LOW LUNGE (fingertips on floor in tripod position, chest open neck long, back leg straight parallel and extending back, hips low)
- BREATH, MOVEMENT AND INTENTION AS ONE
These first two Namaskars are simple Surya & Lunar variations.
PS: Illegally sharing poscasts is not yogic!
